SWISS DIAMOND HOTEL LUGANO - Morcote

Lovely hotel on the shore of Lake Lugano. Great pools, indoor and outdoor, excellent facilities. Very pleasant staff, we were very well looked after by the great Luigi in the dining room, a lovely man. Very easy to drive to Lugano city, or take the hotel shuttle. An easy stroll into Morcote for a different experience, many bars and restaurants, plus a climb up to the lovely church.

We were met spot on time by the hotel shuttle from Lugano train station. our room was lovely although at the back of the hotel with a view of gardens, which were very nice. This proved to be a bonus with the hotter days arriving as the sun was on the front of the hotel. The Spa area was very nice and we used it each day, sometimes more than once. The pool area was lovely and nice places to sunbathe. Breakfast time was very nicely laid out in the restaurant off of the hotel lobby.All the food was excellent. Every time we wanted to book a shuttle into Lugano there was a full choice of times to leave and return. All of the staff were helpful and pleasant to us at all times. We wouldn't hesitate to go back there again...a wonderful experience in a beautiful place.

Ok, great food. Good service. Decorated for rich Russians with Russian language on the menu. Very expensive.

We stayed at the swiss diamond hotel for two nights using a voucher from a deal which we bought last year. We have stayed in lots of hotels and with time you automatically compare them and i must say i was disappointed with the way we were treated and didn't feel for one moment well looked after which i would expect with a five star hotel . Is every one treated like this or was it because we had a special offer??!!The first morning our coffee was cold, the second one they brought was very weak and the third was a very strong expresso. In the end i was the one apologizing..... Not them :( The rooms were clean and i slept well. The wellness area was a bit of a mix of different Designs and sparse with the extras which you usually get like different teas, fruit and nuts. The big plus was the very long opening times from the area and the lovely warm pool. A shame the massage jets don't work. A lovely sunny trip out on the bikes from the hotel started off great only for my partners bike to break and us having to walk back most of the way to the hotel, no apologies or interest taken . If you supply bikes for your guests they should be in good condition and regularly had a service... After handing in the room cards and paying the taxes the man serving me didn't find it necessary to even say goodbye let alone wish me a safe journey home. If thats five star i think i'd rather stay at home.

Very nice hotel only downside was the outside pool was not open. The dinner in the restaurant was fantastic and the singers in the bar were very good too.
