The restaurant appears run-down both on the outside and inside. When we visited at 1pm, it was empty. The food was the lowest quality we've encountered on the island and the server seemed lost and unsure of what to do. I wouldn't be shocked if it closes down soon.
We were biking the confederation trail and stopped in for lunch. This place was shabby and run down but we ventured forth despite our hesitation. We were the only ones in there and the waitress looked surprised to see us. We perused the menu and chose the lobster burger. The waitress told us they don't serve it anymore ... No explanation. OK we said, how about the scallop burger? She laughed. Said "I guess we serve that" then walked back to the kitchen. AT this point we realized we may have made a big mistake. I snuck a look into the kitchen and watched the chef scrape cold mashed potatoes from a plastic container. The burger arrived on a cold bun with two steaming piles of reheated potato mush. I looked inside and saw three deep fried scallops that looked severely unappetizing. I took a bite in and a mysterious hot liquid started dripping out from the insides. My dining companion lost her appetite watching this. I pushed on. I didn't finish the mashed potatoes and settled my bill quickly. I'm about to get back on my bike and finish our 60km journey. I'm worried about my insides. What have I done?
I dined here for the first time a couple of days ago and had a fantastic experience. My friends and I were camping in the area and were in need of hot coffee, a hearty breakfast, and a clean restroom. We were pleased to find all of that and more at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the waiter even offered to show us where more outlets were to charge our phones. He was attentive, filling up our coffees at just the right time and was very friendly. It was the perfect place to recharge and refuel after a night of camping.
We were travelling in mid Sept, trying to find a lunch stop. Stumbled upon this family run, basic restaurant. We were happy to see moderate prices
