I had the spicy dan-dan ramen and all I can say is that it was honestly so oishii. Noodle portion size was decent, pork was tender and flavorsome and they didn't go overboard with the spiciness. Restaurant may be a little small in size but it can't be helped. Other than that, I'm definitely coming back and will recommend this place to anyone who's craving a serious bowl of ramen.
Love the new Oishii Ramen restaurant. It has a great welcoming and inviting atmosphere. The spicy miso ramen dish I had was great. It tastes really nice and was pack with full of flavours in this one dish. The dish itself was well prepared and the portion of the dish was satisfying as well. Overall, I had a great experience. Keep up the good work!
People have asked the question of me, is Oishii better than Nao? So here's my subjective view in print: Having had the Spicy Miso Ramen at both premises within 24 hours, furnishes me with a baseline for comparison. Nao offers larger portions and variety of noodles, which are hand made. I believe Oishii uses store bought, pre-made ramen. However, where Oishii currently trumps Nao, is their broth. The flavor of the ingredients shines through more strongly. You can taste the bamboo, the spring onions, the miso and so on. Nao's spicy miso just seemed diluted, which was best indicated by the inconsistent colour and watery patches in their broth. (Perhaps a drawback from their proportionally larger bowls) The coup de grace is simply there's just no competition when it comes to the chashu. Oishii's rendition is juicy, tender and melts in your mouth vs Nao's where I found it slightly dry and falling apart before it made it to my lips. Conclusion: So glad to have these guys in the neighbourhood. More ramen noodle options would be wonderful (I dream of green tea ramen with tonkotsu) and please consider opening for dinner again. (Y)
Without a doubt, the best ramen spot in Perth. After one taste of the tonkatsu ramen and i was sold! Made with a delicious hearty broth, and perfectly textured hand made noodles what more needs to be said. The pork seems to melt in your mouth and leaves you drooling for more. The interior is quaint and cozy, and really does feel like a ramen bar set in Japan. I recommend all foodies of Perth to head down as soon as possible. Will definitely be back soon!
Winter in Perth, to me, is an opportunity (really an excuse) food that warms my soul. This place satisfied every winter craving. The portions left me wondering if I need to eat for the rest of the day. The broth was warm and rich, and the noodles were firm and smooth, the Chashu fell apart at the touch and the bamboo shoots exploded in your mouth in sweet waves. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen, my partner had the Spicy equivalent. I usually do not like spice, but what she had, I would actually take over the Tonkotsu for the depth of flavour and perfect mix between broth and spice. If you find yourself anywhere near here and find you are in need of a meal, drop in, it won't disappoint.
