We ate all our meals at the hotel except for a piece of pizza that we got from Sbarro at the airport on the way out. Two days after we got home we both developed horrendous traveler's diarrhea. Sure, it's possible that we got it from the 5-star resort that we have never had an issue with and have visited multiple times. That said, I know it had to be from Sbarro. The timing of symptoms is very telling. Considering that other people had the same experience I would strongly suggest you stay away from this place. The pizza was sub-par for Sbarro and overpriced. Save yourself the misery and just get a bag of pretzels at the airport.
My son ate the pasta Alfredo with chicken and he had diarrhea for 3 days! Avoid this place at all cost!
Pizza of Death Keep Walking!!!!! DO NOT EAT AT SBARRO!!!! On March 19th, my party of 2 and I arrived early for our flight and decided to sit down and dine. The other 2 of my party had the individual slice of pepperoni pizza and I had the individual slice of sausage stuffed pizza; we also had 2 bottled teas and 1 can soda, total $550 peso (550 divided by 16 is $34.38 US). By far the most expensive meal we had in Mexico. Well, long story short, something must have been bad/rotten in the stuff pizza because I became extremely sick. The entire flight home was miserable; I was throwing up on the flight and after. Now, I am assuming the airport has some sort of rules and regulations for all vendors within the airport and I can only assume they are not enforcing such rules/regulations based on previous reviews for Sbarro. From now on, I will eat street tacos in Puerto Vallarta before boarding my flight
DO NOT GET THE BREADSTICKS. They were definitely not made today. We got a quick lunch here on way back to LA. They had no line so service was fast. The pizzas was okay at best but the breadsticks were inedible--hard, cold, and dry. And this is at 10:30am so we must have been their first customers of the morning. They definitely recycle food from the day before. I hope the company knows and would want their quality has some consistency, even for this low end Italian food chain.
DONT EAT HERE!!!! Would give a negative star rating if I could. My boyfriend and I ate here before our flight back home. It was our first meal of the day and it made us terribly sick. Throwing up our whole flight back to LA. That was 3/1/2019. Two days later 3/3/2019 I am still feeling extremely ill and can't hold food down.
