Out if desperation to find a place which is opened on the August long weekend, we landed in this joint.
First time at Shanghai City at friends suggestion. Had the Dim Sum menu. Service was excellent and quick. The food was hot and delicious. The Shrimp HarGow and Pork Sui Mei were perfect. No buffet is offered due COVID. NO carts either but under normal...conditions both would be available. Will return. !
After all the years we have eaten here it's finally time to end the relationship. Buffet hours are clearly posted. Lunch til We arrived at quite prepared to dine al la carte. The server said the buffet was still open. We foolishly trusted...that the food would be fresh. It was cold, fried rice was raw crunchy, whatever was in the wonton soup were NOT wontons (meatballs maybe Deep fried prawns were cold in fact everything was dried up and cold. I gave stars because the desserts were as expexted. Server was vedy nice too.
I'll be honest, I'm not sure if the buffet was really that great, or I was just so happy to eat at a Chinese buffet after almost two years! lol I was quite happy with any dish i tried and found most items to be...flavourful, even for westernised. I'd consider eating here again.
