We stopped here on a whim one evening after walking the city and checking out the architecture and museums. The ale was the smoothest I've experienced, and the food was fantastic. The strikers are like sliders, but use Yorkshire puddings rather than buns and carry four different flavors. The lamb curry ended up passed about the table. We'll be back when we're back in Nashville.
The feel is ok but not great. Needs less lighting. Slightlier comfy seating maybe, but the bar stool fit me just right. Beer selection is very good. Union Jacks on walls are touristy and over the top. I had the bangers. Interesting with the sprouts caramelized onions but good. And hell yes you can smoke in there because thank God there are still places where adults can behave like adults unsupervised. We like to go places nanny disapproves of so we can get away from nanny. Anyway, dim the lights and add some table candles (or candle-like lights) and get an IPA on tap and it'll be my second home.
Smoking, really?. The food sounds really good, but a restaurant allows smoking, where people are eating? We'll pass. It's 2012 folks, get with the plan.
Food and atmosphere are great. Only downside is that the prices are slightly expensive for what you get and beer is overpriced as well. Would return more frequently but for the aforementioned.
I have the victorian station veggie burger (vegan). it was okay, but a little dry and needed ketchup. apparently, I've been hunting the last 20 o'clock. the riders were really good, didn't even need ketchup. the woman has chicken cake and said it was good.
