We were fascinated by the bungee jumpers at the end of the pier! There's plenty to do here. Spend the day on the clean sand (windbreak essential) and then stroll along the seafront to choose from a wide selection of restaurants or people watch over a coffee. The beach and the dunes have plenty to offer to sport enthusiasts including sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Good base for exploring out of the city centre.
Scheveningen is a beach resort in the Netherlands, easily reached by tram from the central train station in the Hague. There is a long clean beach where you can sunbathe, or the more adventurous can try out some of the watersports on offer. Also for the adventurous there is bungee jumping from the tower on the end of the pier. Behind the beach there is a Sea Life centre that is supposed to be good, although I haven't been there. There are lots of cafes and restaurants on the streets behind the beach, as well as quite a few nice ice cream shops. It is quite a touristy place but it's still a nice place to visit. If you are visiting Scheveningen over New Year then you can take part in the Nieuwjaarsduik (New Years Dive) on New Years Day , when there is a swim in the North Sea. In the summer there are weekly fireworks displays.
I love that beach. One of my favourite. If stay there dont forget to visit the fairy tale figures at the Boulevard. At the Boulevard you have a lot of nice restaurants and cocktailbars. In the summertime there is a fireworks at the pier each week.
