Carmines At Candleworks - New Bedford

Sat outside. Waited 25 minutes to be greeted. It began to rain and we moved to the table beside us that had an umbrella. The empty table had dirty dishes we removed and the hostess came out and scolded us for moving without asking.

Poor service, poor food quality, poor interest on the part of the management. I've dined there many times. I'd say there's been some sort of change in the business model. I am sad to say I cannot and will not return.

The food and service were excellent. We sat in the garden room because it was so hot outside. The only problem was that the A/C duct above our table dripped condensation down on us, particularly into the plate of one of our guests. The server was very nice and apologetic, and offered to wipe off the duct (which she couldn't reach). I was able to swing my napkin up at the duct and stop the problem (we thought) until it returned a short time later. A change of table at that point was more trouble than it was worth. Just thought you'd want to know!

Came for an early dinner. It was delicious and wait staff was very attentive. Great playlist for dinner on the patio! Only negative would be the different music playing from the outside bar at the same time. Definitely an excellent dinner choice!

Very familiar with the location although we had not been there for several years. We were celebrating my birthday and liked that we could make a reservation for 2 on a Saturday night. The food, wine, service and menu options were all ok. We were very disappointed in the ambiance or lack thereof. We opted for a table in the dining room and were seated near two large TVs The sound was muted, thankfully, but they were playing a cage fighting competition on one and a baseball game on another. Not exactly what one would expect in a supposedly upscale Italian restaurant. Doubtful we will return.
