Mi Cabana - New Bern

The best Mexican restaurant in New Bern! The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is great. Little busier on the weekends, but that’s to be expected.

I went to dinner with my sister the other night. My sister wasn't very hungry so she decided to order one (1) taco as a side dish. The single taco was not bad the size was about what you would get at Taco Bell. What bothered us most was the fact they charged us $1.49 per ingredient. I mean the base taco was $3.99 plus a $1.49 for about three/four pieces of tomato, $1.49 for no more than a 1/4 cup of iceberg lettuce, and $1.49 for a 1/2 tablespoon of sour cream. The a la carte taco was $8.46!!! Absolutely not worth it whatsoever. Extremely overpriced and ridiculous.My dish was what you would expect from the Mexican restaurants up and down the east coast. The ingredients are the same just bundled with a tortilla or without; with sauce or without. The flavors are the same no matter where you go. My dish included four enchiladas for $10.99. This is why being charged almost $9 for one single taco was extremely overpriced.We definitely would not go back there because it was overpriced and unimpressive. There are much better places that are cheaper. After all Mexican is not gourmet.

This place is my go to in new Bern, their food is sometimes phenomenal but the rest of the time it’s solid. The service here is great and they want your business. I love this place and it’s my weekly go to for Texana nachos ?
