The Thirsty Duck - New Westminster

I came around to grab some food but the bartender just wasn’t taking an order or she wasn’t serving me drinks. It took her off the clock co worker to take my food order and serve me drinks while he isn’t being paid. Doesn’t make much sense in my head but I recommend coming in the mornings for a different servings (server was Tara)

Tara goes above and beyond for whatever we need. We always feel so welcome. The food hits even more than the last every time we go. We look forward to Wing Wednesday every week.

The experience tonight (01/31/2024) was one worse experience I ever had. This petite racist lady refused to serve us because of our skin colour. She screamed at the top of her voice, called us names. Non of the other staff paid attention to her screaming. Looks like she did not want us over at the pub. Reason was she demanded we pay before she serve us or we get out (our table was the only one asked to pay before service). Prior to this she wanted us to show two IDs each. We did! She then demanded we pay before she serve, my friend took out his bank card to pay, she turned around and walked away, and asked that we get out. We were so surprised. Never seen any service of this sort before. HONESTLY NEVER GO TO THAT PUB IF YOU ARE A MINORITY! The lady at this pub is a racist in the 19th century. Or maybe there is no concerned management here. Or maybe they share the same views/ideology.

I loved the vibe here. The food is still reasonably priced. The bartender was the perfect girl for the job. I wish I remembered her name so I could call her out here for how good she did. She was working Tuesday the 23rd if that helps figure out who she was. She was so personable and fast. This is hands down my favourite New West bar now.

A casual pub. Pretty standard pub fare. The server, Tara, is outstanding. Never seen such a bubbly, efficient waitress!! The owner is a very friendly guy who I’ve seen checking in with his patrons. The building itself, while very clean and well kept, is a tad outdated but a fun time can be had by all. Lively music. Gotta try the Duck burger! Not duck meat but it’s huge and delicious!Parking: There is some parking available at side of pub. At busy times it’s all filled up but there is free street parking on 12th and side streets.
