It was a quiet Sunday evening when we arrived at the restaurant, which was almost empty. We were there to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and I had mentioned it twice in my Open Table reservation, yet Kissaki did not acknowledge this in any way. I was disappointed that, with the restaurant being so empty, they overlooked that request. However, the omakase was a great value, and we all enjoyed our meal.
I'm really glad I chose to visit this restaurant for Omakase with my family. The negative reviews on Yelp don't reflect the actual experience. It's either someone with a grudge against the restaurant or someone unfamiliar with Omakase. At $150 per person, it's an incredible deal. You get generous portions of Kobe Beef, scallops with white truffle sauce, uni, caviar, and 8-9 pieces of exceptionally fresh and well-prepared sushi, plus the dessert is fantastic. My only complaint is that they seem to be understaffed. I will definitely return. Sushi Gari would cost significantly more!
Ambience was great. Food unfortunately was subpar for the price
Way overpriced for what you get. Definitely playing up being a high price she she restaurant, but the food does not justify the price. Did the 13 course omakase and was dissapoined with justa bout every plate. If you are in the area, would advise anyone to go a couple blocks over to Gari instead.
