I ordered the house special (pork) the salad was very fresh the bread was warm it had a nice crisp on the outside to it although being rather dry as a little tough to eat. Having spent time Vietnam and eating a lot of them in London where I’m from, it’s the pate that really gives these sandwiches the edge. The pate also normally adds moisture to it, the pate in this one was dry. It was not a great experience really rather dry all round I eat half of mine bind the rest.
Tasty. Crunchy French style baguette. I opted for the cold meat. The baguette is 1/3 larger than I expected.$10 which is good value in this neck of the woods. The chili has been toned down to cater for regular folks tasty. Usually it has de-seeded chilies.
Got the beef with lemongrass, $10.75. The meat is on one side and the veggies on the other. Would prefer more flavor and filling. Overall I liked it. 7.5/10. Also tried the minced pork with sweet glaze. Same score, 7.5/10.
Quite disappointed. Maybe it's because I had the banh mi at room temperature but it was just so incredibly dry. Got the #1. I'd hate to come off as too American but it could use some kind of sauce. Needed a ton of water just to swallow each bite. Bread was good quality and the flavor of the meats were fine. Portion size was good. Guy working there was really nice. Just wayyyy too dry.
Very good and friendly service. The sandwich was pretty big and taste good as well. The packaging was good as well. I would recommend this place to anyone who like to try Vietnamese sandwich in NYC.
