While the menu is small, it is filled with a diverse selection catered to different palates. The superior burger is delightful—it's compact, so it's ideal to pair with sides or another sandwich. The sloppy Dave is another highlight; it's a tofu dish in a rich tomato sauce topped with fried onions, and it's so messy that you'll need a fork to eat it properly. One of their newer creations is a must-try—it features yuba (tofu skin) that is both chewy and tender, accompanied by a creamy sauce and pickles. It's unlike anything else I've ever tasted. They also offer a variety of salads and vegetables, with the burnt broccoli salad being particularly fresh, well-dressed, and featuring cashews for added crunch. Perhaps the best part is their complimentary "superiority water," which is simply NYC tap water with a twist of lemon. If you enjoy vegetarian fast food, this place is definitely one worth visiting.
I absolutely loved my visit, and it inspired me to buy their cookbook, which is also fantastic! I dragged my friend along, who wasn't too thrilled about going to a vegetarian, mostly vegan spot for lunch. However, like me, he was won over by the charming little space, the seating arrangements, and the delicious food! We were fortunate to sit in the clever booths along the wall with the swivel tabletops. There’s seating for five, or six if you and a friend can squeeze into the window spot. Knowing the sides were highly praised, we decided to order all of them that day, including the burnt broccoli salad, broccoli rabe, and a beet dish. My friend chose the Superiority burger. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. I wish I could say we enjoyed dessert, but I had also planned to visit Confectionary just down the street. I will definitely be back, and I’ll bring my husband, a lifelong burger enthusiast, who is trying to transition to more vegan options. Places like this make it much easier!
This is an excellent spot for unique and interesting vegan and vegetarian cuisine! I suggest following them on social media to catch their limited-time offerings, which are always fantastic. Just be ready to arrive early or wait in line; the quality of the food is well-known. They have a loyal customer base that appreciates how delicious and distinctive the dishes are.
Finally got to taste this little one. Ordered the superiority burger for $6 It's overrated, I would say. The tiny size, of course disappointed me. In terms of flavor, I would rate 3 out of 5.
Very solid veggie burger. I’d say its a burger that non-vegetarian foodie would still find tasty. I got the SB tokyo magamouth. The patty is made of beans and it was well-seasoned with pepper spices and very flavorful. The bun was soft and chewy. The lettuce and tomato was very fresh. I didnt quite like the amount of tomato sauce, making it a bit too acid and overwhelmed other flavors in the burger. Its veggie burger so you feel good after eating it since its lighter than a meat burger. After tax $10.89 so pretty decent for the value.
