Possibly the worst breakfast I’ve had in a Weatherspoons.....meal came about min after ordering, bacon I don’t think had seen a grill pan, extra order! mushroom, tomato and sausage that could have passed for an inner tube and overall cold, including the toast. There were no condiments available, “we’ve run out”, black pudding on the menu as Miners Benedict and extra portion...not available, “we haven’t had any for ages”and a coffee machine that only served cups. I know this isn’t fine dining but at least get the basics right.

What you expect from a spoons. Good location, convenient.

We come here frequently but found this saturday night that the barmaid upstairs was rather abbrassive. There were of us and the only available table had no chairs. When we turned to the barmaid for help we were advised to go and find them ourselves which we did. Upon ordering she asked which table we were sat at (i had forgotten to check so pointed it out to her) .. this was met with sarcasm "that could be ANY table she responded).I continued to place our order for people and really found her service to be miserable and unfriendly. Our guests had travelled up from Great Yarmouth for the occasion and were not impressed with the geordie customer service on offer. Lovely pub, usually a pleasure to dine in but this has totally put us off returning
