Local Ocean Seafoods - Newport

Vegetarian options were good. Wait staff was friendly. Food took an incredibly long time to be served. Seafood was fresh but other ingredients were added to that it over shadowed the seafood. All items seemed extremely over priced with small portions.

This is my favorite restaurant in Oregon, a state that has numerous amazing dining options. The tuna berry salad, the tuna Reuben, the halibut and peaches are all amazing. Every dish is thoughtful, presented beautifully and delicious. The cocktails are always phenomenal too. Make reservations for sure. Go, you won’t regret it.

Very unfriendly service. Ruined the experience for me. Food is always fantastic, but the bad attitudes of most of the staff has made me not want to return.

Since I moved to Corvallis in 2015, Local Ocean has been our family's favorite seafood restaurant in the country. We occasionally go to Newport only for this place. We have so much memories and fun for birthdays, family/friends' visits, anniversaries, graduations, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, and many more. We love them so much so that we used to get their dock boxes over the pandemic. Because we are moving out of the state in a few weeks, we made our last family trip to Newport to have a nice family diner at Local Ocean. So, we made a reservation at 4:15pm. As we're running 5 minutes late, we called the restaurant to let them know about it. We showed up at 4:20pm and checked it with the host. We were asked to wait for 5 minutes or so while a table is being ready. So, we waited and waited for 10 minutes. As I saw 3-4 tables ready, I politely reminded a hostess at the front check-in desk that a few tables had been ready for a while, but she aggressively responded that we couldn't just seat without any reservation. It was not only me, but my two sons felt that her response was inappropriate and rather rude. I reminded her that we had a reservation at 4:15. Finally, we were able to sit and enjoy great food, but our last moment in Newport was somewhat spoiled. So long

Food was bland not worth the money. Service was rude , lazy and non energetic felt like they were entitled (probably from the 20% automatic service charge. Food was overpriced don’t believe the positive reviews this place should be avoided at all cost As you can see the owners response was auto generated and didn’t read the complaint the food is just as terrible as the service
