Condensing all the flavors of a continent into one restaurant may seem a bit ambitious, but the simple and genuine nature of the staff and the authentic menu they offer leaves no room for criticism. African Feeling truly captures the essence of being in Africa, with its murals depicting the savannah, lively tribal music, and friendly servers dressed in colorful traditional attire. The cuisine consists of hearty dishes featuring rice, vegetables, fish, and various meats. While the ingredients may not be exactly the same as those used in Africa, the flavors are sure to transport you to the continent itself.
The only African restaurant we have found in all of Sydney is called African Feeling. Condensing the entire cuisine of a continent into a single restaurant may seem a bit pretentious, but the simplicity with which the staff treats you and the sincere menu they present leave no room for criticism. African Feeling conveys the feeling of being in Africa. Its murals of the savannah, filled with animals, its tribal music, and the friendly girls dressed in colorful clothes and a splendid smile when serving, make you feel like you are in Africa for a while. The food is spicy, based on rice, vegetables, some fish, and various meats. I suppose in Africa it would be more authentic due to the ingredients used, but it should not be much different from what we tried.
Thanks to the recommendations of a trusted friend, I have been coming here for a while. wonderful hosts. The dishes are authentic and delicious.
We visited this restaurant as my husband and his friend are of nigerian heritage. The food was very nice! However service was very slow due there only being one waitress
My wife and I had an great dinner at African Feeling. We were having trouble working out what to order and finally decided to go with Banquet 2, so that we'd be able to sample a wide range of dishes. We were assured by our friendly waiter that the portion sizes were smaller than the standard meals (which must have been huge as we still had a lot of leftovers). She was good enough to pack our leftovers in takeaway containers and we noticed she did this for other diners too.I'd recommend this banquet for the variety. Don't worry that there may be too much food for you as the leftovers will make up another meal at home (a couple of our dishes tasted even better the next day).Banquet 2 consists of set mains (Okra, Eggplant, African Curry, Egusi Stew and Lamb Tangine), but they are standout selections from the menu and offer a good variety of meat and vegetable dishes. You get to select 3 entrees and 2 sides. We went for the African Cigar, Vegetarian Triangles and Mince Samosas for entree and sides of Jollof Rice and Chapatis. It was all good, but after eating the entrees and the Chapatis, we knew there was no way we were going to get through the mains! All in all, this is a great restaurant. Don't worry about ordering too much, go for the variety of the Banquet, it's good value considering what you get and that it covers an extra meal!
