Chef Indian was just a short walk over and we couldn’t have been happier. They were able to accommodate for 12 people without a reservation and even though they were busy. Uma was the sweetest and got our tables ready in a flash. Our server came , took our drinks order they were on the table within minutes. They took our apps order suggested what is not spicy. The food was out fast and on proper tandoor plates smoking hot with all the trimmings. We ordered chicken tikka, papad, lamb kebabs. Excellent! The server took our dinner order and was super helpful on how much to order. He even suggested if we need more, he will check in and put in a fresh order. Three staff members checked in with the entire table and we ordered more garlic naan. Best naan we’ve eaten! Super fresh, piping hot, delicious flavor, pillowy soft. Prices are great! We will back again!!!
I recently tried Chef Of India's new restaurant, Jal-Mal, located at 6535 Thorold Stone Road in Niagara Falls. They offer both takeout and dine-in options. My recent visit impressed me with delicious, fresh food and excellent service from a lovely young lady. The staff was helpful in explaining the menu and accommodating our request for less spice. I highly recommend trying their delicious soup. Give it a try!
Found this as we were looking for dinner rather late and Indian sounded great. Everyone inside was Indian so we knew it would be authentic. We KNEW to ask for mild. Still a not spicy but to be expected...hello Indian food. Everything was delicious and the servers were quite attentive even with a packed house and several large parties. The table next to us complained about the spiciness of the food and the servers tried to accommodate them. Poor guy was sweating and was red in the face, but i think he knew he overestimated his spice tolerance. Best deal as far as cost for everywhere we tried during our trip. Shrimp butter masala was tasty and paired nicely with the spicy rice entree.
To be fair, I have never been much of a fan of Indian food. I do try to confront that now and again, but alas, this restaurant did not cure me of my taste. It was... fine, the nan was tasty and the other food good enough, but nothing that I could really appreciate. Oh, and I don't recommend ordering wine there, I guess it's fair they don't have a good selection, but still.
We were staying at the Howard Johnson's Hotel facing this restaurant. So we tried it. It was so amazing that we went back again the next day for dinner. We would have gone a 3rd time, but they were closed on Wednesday. We got an order of the Palak Paneer, garlic naan, samosa and Tandoori Paneer Tikka.
