But that's probably the point because this is very much a local bar. The food is hearty, German and exceptional. Their schnitzel and rotbarsch (sea bass-like) dishes are particularly outstanding. And they are under ten euros. Add a great range of alt and pilsner beers and you'll have a good night out here. You won't get far without at least some understanding of German and do ask before grabbing a table just in case it's a stammtisch (regulars' table). It might even look a little daunting at first. But if you want a genuine slice of lower income, West German, inner city life you'll get it here. And come away having had great food and beer at great prices.
