They serve you a plate with rice, salad, pico de Gallo, fried polenta and plantain. Then the servers come around with all sorts of meats. We have been to fancy Brazilian bbq chains and I have to say that I think the meats here were better. More flavor and cooked to perfection. I liked the cozy, friendly atmosphere here as well. Our waitress was so friendly I felt like we were old friends! Love love this place and will be back soon.
I ended up here completely by chance... They were not listed in my regular booking site and it was late so I didn't feel like delaying dinner any longer... I usually have reservations about a place not thru my normal channels... The fact that they are located in a strip mall only added to my fears... But..., when I walked thru the front door..., nothing could prepare me for what was inside... A beautifully decorated and very large restaurant featuring spacious seating, wooden tables and chairs and an upbeat décor with an open kitchen design. There was a lot of thought that went into the layout of this place... The owner, Sharam was in the kitchen and we had a nice conversation about food and the restaurant business... my server Lori was extremely pleasant and was quick to recommend some of her favorites... Very attentive and made sure to replace my flatware with each changing course... Today's adventure would start with the Shrimp Cocktail... Four jumbo shrimp served with cocktail sauce and a lettuce garnish.. Quite delicious... The rolls they get par-baked from a local bakery and finish them with herbs before serving warm. I would have preferred whipped butter to butter packets but all in all not bad... Next up the Wedge Salad... Unlike a traditional wedge, here they serve it as romaine lettuce with the accompanying bacon, tomatoes, avocado and buffalo blue cheese dressing. Almost a mix of French dressing and BleuCheese with a slight kick... And honestly..., I prefer this over the traditional...Very good! The main course this evening was the Haddock... Hook and line Haddock, pan seared and served over a bed of rice and fresh vegetables consisting of green beans and shredded carrots... With its special blend of herbs and spice , this fish was cooked to absolute perfection! I wasn't planning on having dessert until I saw the Flan... A rich creamy custard served with whipped cream and an edible orchid. Marvelous! Finish the meal with my signature cappuccino and life is complete. Just the right blend of richness and head served in a tall slender cappuccino cup... This place is a hidden treasure... You never know from online what a truly wonderful experience you'll have when you actually come here... I was quite pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back!
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent environment for very affordable price. They make you feel welcome. Must they the fried polenta.
This was by far one of my favorite experiences with Brazilian food. We ended up with a nice glass of wine and a buffet style where they would come by and cut various meats for you based on if you want to eat them or not. Everything was very well cooked very well prepared and the wait staff were very attentive. It's a very very beautiful restaurant and I highly recommend their entire menu!
I am a frequent guest at Chama Grill and was disappointed to see them affected by the recent gas pipe issues in the Merrimack Valley. My wife and I decided to show our support and eat there the other night. We knew that there would be a lot of struggles re-opening the restaurant, especially with staff turnover. The hostess was clearly new to the restaurant and new to the job of hostessing , as she was being supervised by the owner. Our waitress was friendly, but apprehensive. She did not know a lot about the menu items, was slow to clear our appetizer plates, but overall not bad and something we were willing to tolerate as the business got itself upright again. There were at least 2 items they did not have on the menu (of course, the 2 items we were hoping for! . We had to wait for our wine since they apparently did not have it at the bar and needed to get it from the office . The wedge salad and mussels were very good, although I think the red sauce for the mussels and the dressing for the salad were too spicy hot. I love hot, spicy food but I think the heat overpowered the flavor of these two items and could be tempered down a little bit. My wife ordered the salmon and I ordered the shrimp fettuccine. My wife 's salmon was severely overcooked and was too dry to even contemplate eating. We sent it back, which meant I was eating alone for most of the dinner while we waited for my wife 's meal to arrive, which took another 15 minutes (not sure why it took so long to cook another piece of salmon . My fettuccine came in a large bowl and looked more like a congealed ball of starch. The lemon cream sauce was more of a thick paste than a creamy sauce. The pasta was way overcooked and continued to be cooked by the sauce, rendering it mushy and lifeless! The shrimp were also slightly overcooked and tough. I thought about sending mine back as well, but I was so hungry, decided to at least share this with my wife while we waited for her salmon. Considering the place had just re-opened and was relatively quiet on the day we went, we were really hoping for Chama Grill to shine! The staff were clearly apprehensive and trying to learn their roles. It would have been nice for the owner to stop by and talk with the diners, chat, and thank them for their support. Considering my wife had to wait another 15 minutes for her meal to be cooked, it would have been nice for the owner or staff to provide some form of service recovery (a complimentary cup of coffee or dessert . I think it will be a while before we head back to Chama Grill. I hope the owner can get things right, especially the food, otherwise I am afraid things will never be the same in what was a wonderful place to eat in North Andover.
