Just as we were about to give up, we heard some singing around the next corner. Intrigued, we continued on and stumbled upon the Captains Cabin, where a charity event featuring local folk groups was taking place. The bar was cozy, the service was superb, and the locals were welcoming. We ordered drinks, which at £5 a pint, were a steal considering the prime location. We made our way to the deck area at the back of the pub, which offered a stunning view of the bay and beyond. We spent about 3 hours there, enjoying the entertainment, the drinks, and the breathtaking view. Although we didn't dine there that evening, the food looked delicious and was reasonably priced, as confirmed by the friendly locals who were enjoying their meals. If you find yourself in Western, do yourself a favor and stray from the crowded areas to discover this hidden gem. Many thanks to all at Captains Cabin for an unforgettable afternoon.
We enjoyed a Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The food was delicious and plentiful, we couldn't find any faults. The staff were very friendly. In the evening, there is a welcoming real fire. We had a wonderful dinner and drinks by the fire afterwards.
I went to this restaurant for dinner while staying overnight in Weston during a long walk. Despite its unassuming exterior, the experience turned out to be fantastic! We ordered our food from the top bar and were informed (with an apology) that we would have to take our drinks down to the terrace as the bottom bar was closed - no problem! The cider selection was impressive (6 on tap, including a couple that were new to me) and the restaurant was dog-friendly. We found a great spot at the front of the beautiful terrace with stunning views of the sea. The food arrived (one fish dish and two different burgers) and it was all delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were great, and as we were leaving, a live band was starting to play, although we couldn't stay to watch. This place was a fantastic find - a real hidden gem!
Visited for a few drinks and decided to eat as well. The food was good did what it said on the tin. Steak with the trimmings. Beer was ok, but overall the place needed a bit of a tidy up, both outside (where the views are tremendous) and in the restaurant. Left with the feeling that the place not living up to its potential.
Good honest well presented food friendly with a good selection of beers definitely return again. Lovely out side area with views across the bay and beyond.
