The box is filled with a selection of delicately flavored treats that simply melt in your mouth. I plan to savor them slowly, enjoying each one individually (or maybe two at a time) over the holiday season. Thank you so much, dear student, for this sweet and thoughtful gift.
My friend convinced me to come to this restaurant, and I'm so grateful she did! The moment you step inside, you can tell it's somewhere special. There is a wide variety of food that was all new and exciting to me. There was a friendly woman in the shop who explained all the pastries to us, even though she didn't work there. My friend ordered walnut flour cookies filled with cream and dipped in chocolate, as well as almond flour cookies filled with cream since she has celiac disease. I have to admit, the almond flour cookie was one of the tastiest cookies I've had in a while. I tried something called the tongue, a small baklava (which was adorable), and a sweet saffron pastry. The baklava had a hint of rose water that was a bit strong for my taste, but still delicious. The tongue, coated in pistachios, was simple yet delicious, and the saffron pastry was not as sweet as the lady had warned, but definitely worth trying. Don't hesitate to visit this restaurant - it's a must!
I stumbled upon Laleh while looking for Middle Eastern bread to accompany my homemade hummus. To my surprise, Laleh is actually a sweet shop that specializes in Persian pastries. While their products lean more towards being cookie-like rather than traditional baklava, I decided to try a small box of various types. The pastries were fresh, light, and colorful - perfect for pairing with a cup of Italian-style coffee. I also picked up a large Iranian flatbread to go with my hummus, completing my main course and dessert for the day. Overall, Laleh's offerings were a delightful addition to my meal.
This in fact a Persian bakery with a lot of choice. But you can also tick a few and help yourself with coffee or tea and sit on one of the few tables provided. The pastry is very nice and there is abundance of choices. Coffee is American coffee, but with the pastry it is nice :-)
