As foreigners we struggled with the menu, but we hoped, that the translation would be accurate. Considering that this was our first city past the Urals we wanted to experience "the real siberia ' ' in the culinary world, and what would there be better than those mystical animals, such as moose or dear? As famous russian playwright Tchechov expressed in his diary while traveling through the remote and adventurous landsapes of siberia: you ' ve only lived siberia after trying their wild meat. But, in my honest opinion, I think he was deeply mistaken, since we were disappointed when the dear was tough and in a cramberry sauce which drowned the meats flavor. The cutlet, which we expected to be a slice of meat, was a meatball, but we assumed this fault as ours, since the russian cutlet is a meatball. Nevertheless the side dishes were completely mistaken, since the english translation was of an old dish, not existing to the present day and therefore we ended up eating apples in cramberry sauce, instead of potatoes and cucumbers, quite a difference I 'd say. Last but not least we were confused, when the tried to correct their mistakes by gifting us a dessert we didnt order, not to our taste to be honest and the bill presented was mistakenly too high, but later corrected by a discount instead of the correct amount, which per se was a nice gesture, but not the expected one from a restaurant with such a name. Maybe the main problem was the communication difficulties, but the place is beautiful!
If you will be in Novosibirsk you must visit this restaurant. Great place! Really delicious food and good service. Recommended!
You get a great quality combined with an experienced waitor (ours was Konstantin). The interior is very nice and individual bringing you back to history of 19th to 20th century.
It has been a long time since I did not eat so good. A must visit for every tourist for sure, and I recommend anyone to come to eat here. The money spent are all worth (even if you can't afford it often, come 1 time in a year at least). Also I drink best strawberry juice ever. Top!
Cool place, although as a tourist it wasn 't as impressing as I thought it would be after reading the guide and some reviews. The menu is focused towards foreigner products more than towards local food, which must be cool if you live there. The local options included a Siberian soup , which was just ok (kinda watery) and a fiah called Muksun , which was much better. The decoration is the main attraction and is certainly something different, between romantic and creepy. The service is very good, really nice and attentive. It is an expensive restaurant and I would only go there if you are willing to enjoy it by spending a lot.
