Connie's Cantina - Oakland

I’ve been there twice for lunch. No one home but Connie. We sat on the patio which was cool and comfortable. We ordered quesadillas and they were delicious! Maybe they didn’t look authentic Mexican but they were a welcome change to the same old Mexican lunch. Prices are very reasonable and I definitely will be back for dinner.

Connie is great and I feel honored to have such a gem in the neighborhood! The place looks nice with cloth napkins but is one of the most affordable options around, so I think a lot of people miss out when they're looking for a casual dinner. The food is lovingly prepared and the decor is comfortable, if a bit retro (which I appreciate). I am usually vegan, but cheat for the cheese in her vegetarian corn burrito!

How sad to see Connie leaving the Grand Lake area. Not only one of the best Mexican (with a Colombian touch) restaurants in Oakland, but a great addition...

I have seen that from Connie's website that she has decided to close. I'm sorry, she made some of the most creative real Mexican and South American...
