Hotel Alte Post Restaurant

Goods from 4 to 5 August 2021 there. On our tour we had booked 7 hotels in several countries via booking.com. The Old Post in Oberammergau was the only one to reserve an amount on our card. Apparently the hotelier misses his guests. When we arrived at the reception, she was unoccupied. Then a hotel employee came, stopped us first and took off the phone that had just started ringing and let us wait until the conversation was over. Also not very customer-friendly. Pros: The food was good.

One cannot miss this typical alpine structure in the heart of town on the main street. It is very attractive inside out. One can sit outside and enjoy a glass of good beer, or inside in a nice wood paneled room. Food is good, too!

The venison goulash was delicious! The rest of our food was good. The portions were decent, but it was a little pricier than other restaurants in the area. They didn’t have any kids portions and it’s definitely more of an adult restaurant. Lovely dining room...and very courteous staff. I wouldn’t recommend for very young children as it’s a quiet setting.

We stayed at the hotel for the night. In the evening we had supper and the next morning we had breakfast there. The supper was very good and consisted of Pork Roast, Dumplings, Red Cabbage, and dessert of fruit and whipped cream. Breakfast was a buffet and we found plenty to fortify us for the activities of the day.
