Bummed out that the **** Mary no longer has the shrimp, crab, and lobster in it, but it 's still the best we 've ever had!! There were only 2 downers we 've experienced there in all these years, and they both happened on the same trip. Ordered dinner and kitchen would not substitute the mashed potatoes with rice (not a big deal , and ordered med-rare for the steak. Came out med-well/ borderline well. Typically, it wouldn 't be an issue, but when the server asked how the food was, and with prices being so high, lwe decided to kindly respond that it was overcooked. The server was a kind woman who offered a resolution after we told her we did not want to be compensated with anything. As she walked away to get a new steak, this other server (let 's just say she 's unnaturally energetic turned around and invaded my significant other 's personal space (like shoulder touching shoulder a few inches from his face kind of close , and proceeds to invite herself into the issue at hand (that was being handled very well by our server . She then proceeds to start educating us on med-well and med-rare, basically trying to argue with us. We pointed out how my other half was a retired 5-star chef and knows the difference. She wouldn 't stop, though. She was pushing to argue. So, the fact that we were there on a romantic date celebrating my birthday with each other and not there too have a philosophical debate on what a med-rare steak is, he appropriately said I want you to leave our table . She kept going on and on, pointing out that she 's our servers boss, so on and so forth, but wasn 't leaving us alone as requested. So again, he told her to just leave our table and walk away and tend to her own. She finally walked away and went directly to the kitchen. A minute or 2 later, the med-rare steak came out. It was rare, barely heated, and still cold on the inside. Quite sure that was her revenge as she made it a point to glance over for the rest of the evening and giggle. Before we left, when my other half went to the restroom, she came over to grab a plate and snidly asked if we liked the steak. Hopefully, our original server does not pick up on her habits, inside and outside (she appears to ski on white stuff, draw your own conclusions for all that 's worth. Other than that experience, an amazing restaurant with delicious food (risotto is cooked perfectly every time! . Will definitely be back!!
Little disappointed, they wouldn't let us put 2 tables together.
This place is the epitome of, Don 't judge a book by its cover. A small hole in the wall bar in the downtown area of Old Orchard Beach serving up amazing quality dishes! I have been going here with my family for years. On my most recent visit, I went with the scallop carbonara. The scallops were seared on the outside and juicy on the inside. The pasta was dressed in a delicious sauce, topped with freshly grated cheese, edamame, and crispy bacon. The portion was a perfect amount of pasta where you didn 't feel too full. A few years back, I had their Peruvian chicken with the green sauce, and I haven 't stopped thinking about it! I hope one day, they will bring it back on the menu because it was SOO GOOD!! Do yourself a favor and put Big Daddy 's on your list when you go to Old Orchard Beach!!
Went there for breakfast yesterday for the last day of the season for serving breakfast. The place was very busy, but service was timely and outstanding and the food was excellent. Kenzie the bartender is excellent at her craft and handled the very busy bar with professionalism and class. Whatever she makes, she deserves a raise in pay.
Great food, service, and beverages !! Sit up top for a good view of the harbor.
