Today is my husbands 70th birthday On his 52 birthday we had the most memorable meal of our lives with you It was Sunday brunch and we have never dined like that before or since We read that Chef is retiring so I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you We felt cared for from the greeting on the patio to the final cappuccino once again on the patio
We stayed at the hotel one night. dinner was meant to be a high point. the pro's; beautiful outdoor setting. food preparation is high quality. the service: stiff and somewhat formal which would be fine if they could deliver on their own high standards. the problem: After one hour the restaurant had only managed to deliver the amuse bouche, We were offered an extraordinary amount of bread. it then took another 2 hours for the rest of the meal (meat course, fish course and dessert). wait staff never recognized that the meal had turned into a conversation sapping and fatiguing marathon. My advice tell them upfront what your timeframe is ... if they turn their noses up ... then move on.
