I'm an enthusiastic fan of Anepalco. I've been here since I introduced a friend when the restaurant opened for a few years. The restaurant has a mixture of wooden picnic style and individual tables painted black. Anepalco is accentuated with a pink mexicano color throughout the room. They have built a full bar in the same style, separated from the tables by shelves with books. Beyond the bar is longer table for larger parties that has a wall art drawing of two iconic Mexican personalities: comedian Cantinflas and singer Pedro Infante drink together. The restaurant also has an outdoor area with metal tables that give you a relaxed atmosphere. The room is framed with simple white flowing curtains. The food is the right deal here. If it's you're first visit, start by placing their main seller stacking tray: Chilaquiles. For those of you unfamiliar, Chilaquiles is a court that varies from state to state in Mexico, but Chef Godinez seems to have embraced the central Mexico city style. Chilaquiles are cut tortillas and fried, then cooked in a sauce that offers red or green Anepalco both. The tortillas are slowly shimmered in the sauce until they become soggy and absorb all tastes while keeping a hint of crunchy. They served them with many different ingredients, and Anepalco served their with pick de gallo and avocado mousse on the top of the Omelette style eggs. I wish they would offer sunny side-up eggs because the 's like I usually eat mine, but also with the Omelette style eggs you will not be disappointed. They also have huevos divorciados divorced eggs, which are over medium-sized eggs with a red and a green sauce and are served on a bed chopped bacon, and sprinkled with Zilantro and avocado pieces. The list of delicious dishes continues. They have sandwiches and burgers for every taste with choices such as chicken, carnitas and even a ratatouille burger. If you have a sweet tooth like me, you're in the right place. Anepalco offers crepes with different fruit fillings, but my two favorite desserts I could not only choose one! are the mango panna cotta and the tres leches three milkcakes. The panna cotta, which is sprinkled with powder chili, I think it's Tajín, but I could be wrong, is creamy and refreshing at the same time. Your mouth didn't know what hit him! The tres leches cake is rich and moist, served with dulce de leche sauce. Your taste buds will feel like they had died and gone to heaven. Now, no doubt my favorite thing about Anepalco is her drinks. Bartenders Cesar Cerrudo and Jorge Sánchez make drinks that taste as good or even better than they look. And they look absolutely amazing, so you can imagine how they taste. They offer a variety of beverages ranging from traditional and their Manhattans, which are for dying to craftsmen. Spicy, sweet or beautiful and strong, they have it. I have tried a lot of them, but my top favorites are their barrel aging drinks 'The MF' and 'French Domain' stand out, 'El Charro y Jazmin, ', the tequila, honey, lemon, jasmine liqueur, and mud epazote, an aromatic herb usually used for cooking, but Cesar Cerrudo could use it here with wonderful results. My other favorites are not even on the menu, but play nicely and ask the bartenders to make them for you. Beverages such as 'La Abuelita Caliente ' Hot Grandma ', made with Abuelita Mexican hot chocolate is therefore the name with Likör de caffe, crème de menthe and horchata foam. Also, 'el Café del Abuelo, ', the her version of an Irish coffee, but with cinnamon and horchata liqueur. And finally, 'El Cielo y el Infierno' heaven and hell, created by Jorge Sánchez, the mezcal, Lavendel Essenz and is infused with Serrano Paprika. A really great experience. And of course the best service ever. Interesting and friendly staff that goes out of the way to offer you a great meal. Make yourself a favor and visit them as soon as possible. You will be satisfied and ready to return for more.
