Our dining experience was unique this last time. We came in on a Sunday afternoon for my daughter's 7th birthday. Our party of 8 was 4 adults, 4 children. They sat us in the bar room and apologized that the booth wasn't available, saying it was reserved for a funeral. At first things were fine, we ordered and our drinks came out. As time passed more people came into the room, and they all seemed to know each other. It started getting loud and rowdy. At times we covered the kids ears at a few of the things being shouted across the room. We would have asked to be moved but we were almost finished with our meal by this point. Then one of the workers opened the door that was behind our table because patrons were going outside to smoke. smoke smell and heat were making us uncomfortable. We mentioned it to the worker, and also pointed out that the small child that was with the large group was running around and that there was a train platform outside. She just rudely answered That's his mom right there, if she doesn't have a problem with it, then neither do I We were ready to go at this point, but the bartender, who was also our server, was busy pouring shots for the whole group and hadn't brought us back our credit card. We finally flagged him down for it when someone shouts, Does everyone have a shot Then they do two speeches to memorialize their friend F*in' Bobby as we were stuck at our table, in the middle of the room! We got up as soon as they finished and I grabbed a worker on the way out to ask him why the heck they sat my family in the middle of a funeral!? He didn't apologize, he just argued that it wasn't a funeral, and then asked me why we didn't move. The whole scenario was super awkward, but his brush off attitude actually made me mad. So to wrap up things, the food was excellent, the service started out good, the bartender was trying considering the circumstances, but this will forever be the birthday party where we sat in the middle of a funeral service. To Bobby ?

They sat us on the Lounge side and apologized that the big booth wasn't available, saying it was reserved for a funeral. At first things were fine, we ordered and our drinks came out. Great place to go eat a good old fashioned American burger, plus streamliners is right next door with a full bar a live music stage.
Had a great experience today. We ordered a hamburger with fries, a strawberry shake, and a hot chocolate. The hamburger was big, juicy, and very tasty. The fries are a thicker cut and my husband raved about the strawberry shake. My hot chocolate warmed me right up. Everyone was so happy and friendly, from the hostess, the waitress, the male server and a gentleman that we assumed was the manager. He asked how we liked the new menu and informed us that the burgers were now all Angus beef. We could definitely tell the difference. The portions were huge and perfectly cooked. It sure makes a difference to go to a place where everyone is happy. We refuse to go to the other OC locations because they act like they are just there to put in their time. Good Job Ruby's of Orange. We look forward to coming back.
