Big Smoke Burger - Ottawa

While I haven’t tried the burgers at this restaurant, I can say that the poutine is quite good and a bit more affordable. I ordered the Spicy Poutine, which didn't meet my expectations in terms of spice level, though the addition of chipotle mayo does add some heat. It features cheese curds, gravy, and caramelized onions. I’m unsure about the pairing of flavors, but the poutine itself is pretty decent. The cheese curds melt perfectly, and the portion is generous enough to fill you up on premium poutine. It may not be the best I’ve ever had, but it’s definitely not bad.

Initially, I was doubtful, but I didn't expect it to be this good! I ordered the Baja vegetarian burger, and it was delicious, especially with the chipotle mayo. I also tried the onion rings, which were tasty as well. My only concern is that they should keep the vegetarian food separate from the non-vegetarian. I noticed a piece of chicken in the fryer where they cooked the onion rings, which I didn't appreciate. I hope they also ensure that the vegetarian patties are kept separate from the non-vegetarian ones, from the area where they collect the patties to the grilling station.

They cook your burger right in front of you, giving you the opportunity to see and smell the grilling process. There's an extensive selection of burger options with various toppings. I ordered the "crazy burger" or something like that, which came piled high with toppings, barbecue sauce, and jalapeños—absolutely loved it! My partner chose the spicy burger and claimed he preferred mine over his. We also shared a bacon poutine, which was deliciously high in sodium, haha. I enjoyed the poutine, but I would only get it again if I was really hungry.

So-so burgers, great rings!. I come here just for the onion rings. I am an onion ring addict. Having tried many different kinds, this is pretty good for mall food. The burgers aren't too much to write about. The few time's I've ordered them, they were quite dry. I will stick with the onion rings- they are delicious!

Cheeseburger Combo. I really enjoyed my meal. Nice juicy, charbroiled burger, fresh toppings, fresh fries, great taste for fast food. A little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. A definite must try for burger fans!
