I often go to the May's restaurant, which is located on Corner of Somerset Street and Preston. Beautiful selection of lunch specialities. Prices are reasonable and the service is good. The staff must smile more, but it's all good. The atmosphere is not the largest. You must have music. Perhaps an Asian/Chinese music to us in the spirit of eating Chinese food.
We were a group of women who had just finished an end of the year fitness class and we wanted to have lunch nearby. We chose Mays when it was just over the street. You have an extensive regular menu and a large lunch menu. We all decided to order from the lunch menu. You have a special lunch for $7.95, which includes a choice of one of the following: spring roll, egg roll or sommes soup. Then choose a plate of probably about 20 choices. In addition, there is also a selection of 5 or 6 combination plates for $9.95 One of our group ordered the somme and it came hot, fresh and loaded with the sommes. She also ordered a plate of noodles and it was huge! A lady ordered the spring roll and a plate of fried Vermicelli, which was also considerable. Two of us ordered combination plates. The plates were loaded. I had my old favorite standard of chicken meat, rice, vegetables and sweet and sour chicken balls. The eggs were huge and there were five. My friend had a combination plate with garlic replacement ribs and she also ordered an egg roll. We drank tea that was put on our table as soon as we set ourselves. Although we were not served at the same time, the food was hot and freshly cooked and we all seemed to finish at the same time. With taxes and tip, our bill for four people came to $52.00 We thought that would be a great value and really good delicious food. May can expect a visit from us.
The whole food I tried here, I really liked that they were my noodles this time from Chow, but otherwise good.
A friend of mine Introduced me to this restaurant. The chef here used to be a Chef in one of the big restaurants in China( sorry don't remember the name). The food is awesome no matter what you order. My recommendations are as follows 1....Stewed Fish and Chinese Cabbage with Chilli Sauce 2. Cumin spicy chicken/ lobster (if lobster season) 3. Stir Fry Yu Choy with Garlic
