Sukhothai - Ottawa

Late one night we were famished and looking for a good little spot for some comfort food. My hubby and I found this place and it was Exactly what we needed. The portions were generous and we enjoyed our meal. We had the chicken pad thai. First we had beers that were served in frosty glasses which really hit the spot and then our waitress (the owner) came over and chatted with us like we'd known them forever. Since it was late we were one of the last tables and they never made us feel rushed, instead they took their time to get to know us and make conversation. It was prefect, We'll definitely be back.

We have been regulars for years and have always had consistently wonderful food and service. They strike the right balance in spices and the ingredients are always fresh. Wonderful staff who are always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend Sukhothai!

I've being going to this place since they were the previous small location and the food/service is really good. Never ordered something I didn't like.

Our family has been going here for years. Today we ordered take-out (have done this previously too). Upon getting home, the soup container lid wasn't on and soup spilled everywhere. I called to let them know and asked for a credit for next time we go. I was told by the server who spoke with the manager that if I go back and show them, they would replace. I explained that it's a 20 minute drive and I had to get somewhere, that's why I did take out and was told if I don't show them, they have no proof. I offered to send picture, but they said I had to physically return it which surprised me since I'm a long time customer. Soup was at the top of bag and leaked into all the other dishes. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service especially since we've been going there for years and have recommended them to others. Guess we won't be returning or recommending them to anyone else.

Authentic Thai with great quality and value. No fusion here. 3 couples and we had 7 shared plates, rice, 2 bottles of wine and a couple of beers. Grand total was just over 100 each couple with tip and tax included and we ate like kings. The resto is small and simple but with the food as the main draw. Found the service extremely friendly and experienced as always. If you want privacy, this is not the place to go. Tables close together with limited space......similar to many European restaurants. Excellent, cheap lunch menu too.
