Thimble Cakes - Ottawa

While strolling down Bank Street, I spotted a black sign proclaiming, "Coconut ice cream is back!" I discovered that most of their delicious treats are vegan, in addition to the ice cream offerings. I particularly enjoyed the mocha chip flavor and their ice cream sandwiches. The bakery selection is impressive, featuring cupcakes, cookies, and various other delightful items, with nearly all of them being vegan and several options for those who are gluten-free, as well as custom cakes. The apple turnover I tried was beautifully flaky. They also offer a variety of hot beverages. A great improvement! This update reflects my previous rating from August 2, 2022.

I had the most delicious pumpkin scone ice cream I've ever tasted! It's hard to find gluten-free and vegan options that are actually tasty, but Thimble had a wide variety of cupcakes, cookies, and scones. The texture was absolutely perfect—light and just the right amount of seasoned. I need to get my hands on their secret recipes!

The cupcakes are delicious, and the staff is eager to accommodate any special requests.

We have tried almost everything and were glad that we did this! we ordered a pumpkin cake early for thanksgiving (delicious filling, flaky crust, and have just added dinge to our order while we admire the load. the apple sales are delicious and the chocolate chip cookies (somehow milk-free! were fantastic! next time we will be in town again (holidays, sure! next time, we have to try the ice that looked great.

I could not love this place more. Delicious treats and friendly staff. Sometimes have to wait longer than I’d like for service (they get busy) but it’s always worth the wait.
