So we decided to Google the reviews on the Lumberjack cafe Restaurant and we started reading them we could not resist after the comments. Well when you walk in it was a wonderful and comforting feeling we had and a lovely welcome from a lady which we found out it was a family run business and she was the owner and her husband was the chef. Well we started with garlic bread and wow and me and the wife had the steak and yes the food was fantastic and well presented and plenty of. Overall the lady was lovely and very helpful I wish I could give 6 stars I would highly recommend this little gem if you are staying in the area or passing by thank you very much Lumberjacks.
Dropped in whilst on holiday down here. It was just really good in all departments. The food and portion size was excellent with a good choice. Lovely service from a Yorkshire lass and a log fire on a slightly chilly evening. It's not big so maybe the best to book.
Nothing much to see from the outside but that all changes the moment you walk in. Greeted by friendly staff which lead on to an amazing meal. He had the pulled beef roll which he enjoyed. I opted for the salmon and had no idea how much I adored the carlalisation on the edges until I ate it here. Ended up having quite the chat fest with other diners and our hostess shared her local knowledge. Wonderful place.
We ate lunch here twice on our way down and back through the Catlins from Dunedin. Great food with a wide variety of choices to suit our picky eaters. Good size restaurant and can cater for larger groups. Service was friendly, efficient and helpful. Highly recommend!
Excellent meals and service from lovely staff. Everything arrived in a timely manner and was delicious. We had lunch there but imagine an evening meal would be possibly better when they get the fireplace going.
