There were three, and they were 6-7 inches in diameter with three strips of thick, meaty bacon on the side. My husband liked his French toast with sausage. The waitress kept refilling his coffee so he should be energetic for some gardening this afternoon! : Descent prices and large portions. It was busy too which is always a good sign.
This place is a gem! Friendly staff and wonderful food. We have only been for breakfasts, but even time it has been very good. Took our grandson and he loved the chocolate chip mini pancakes with the various different designs baked into them. You may wait a little longer on occasion, but they are struggling to hire help just like everyone else. Try it…… you will return!
If I could give zero stars, I would. Ordered 2 breakfasts, eggs over easy, bacon and home fries. Eggs were burnt on the bottom, home fries were way over spiced with strong garlic flavor. Waitress apologized but the cook is the one who should have apologized. What kind of cook would think this was presentable food? Waited 40 minutes for the food and it sure sucked. I obviously wouldn't recommend this eatery. P.S. I wasn't charged even though I offered to pay for the coffee.
We have been driving by this spot for years on our way up to the cottage and finally decided to go in for breakfast. The cafe is small and homey. We had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated, as all tables were full this was on the Family Day wknd so it may not be so busy on a regular wknd). We didn't mind the wait as we had nowhere to be. The servers were friendly but quite busy and it took some time after taking our drink order to come back and take our meal order another 20 minutes this was the only drawback to our visit and we found out they were short staffed that day, too, so I cannot really say it was bad). I ordered the Old English breakfast $9), consisting of 2 eggs, fried tomatoes, sauteed peppers, mushrooms and onions with toast and I asked for the bacon to be on the side so my boyfriend could eat it. Very good taste and was hot and well cooked. My boyfriend ordered the Original Dragonfly Breakfast Bake $10), which consisted of grilled homefries topped with sausage, a cheese blend, 2 eggs and toast. He said it was great and the homefries had a good flavour to them. We also ordered the Deluxe French Toast $10) as we were curious about it being dipped in cornflakes it definitely did give it a crispy crunch texture and was delicious with the maple syrup and and icing sugar you get a choice of ham, bacon or sausage he chose the ham good thickness and size. The servers did ask us if we wanted refills for our tea and coffee. We both enjoyed our meal. They also have pancakes, waffles, burgers, wings and a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. Traditional country fare. They only use trans fat free oils for cooking and bake bread fresh daily that can be purchased. Most likely we would come back again and see how the service is.
Wife and I are in Owen Sound twice to three times a year. Found a great spot for breakfast brunch and lunch! Dragonfly Cafe has everything you need and about ten things you didn't know you wanted. So glad we found this joint, will be back next trip!
