This family-run restaurant offers decent food at moderate prices. While the pastas were tasty, they were not freshly made. However, the salads and sauces were quite enjoyable. We even tried the homemade chili oil, which we were told was spicy, but it was not as intense as expected. The meal had a nice level of heat, but it was not overpowering. The service, provided by the husband and wife team, was relaxed and friendly. Overall, it was an affordable dining option. Our meal, which included salads, starters, wine, and pastas for three people, came to about 60 pounds.
After having a great experience at the original Giuliano's, we decided to try out Al Fresco restaurant. It's located just two doors down from the original, and while I didn't see the need for two restaurants, I appreciated the more relaxed and casual atmosphere at Al Fresco, which would be perfect for a lunch outing. The food at Al Fresco was just as delicious as Giuliano's, although the service was a bit slower, adding to the laid-back vibe. I found the price of the parma ham with melon to be a bit high at almost £7, but I enjoyed a simple Margherita pizza with gooey cheese and a crispy base. Overall, I wasn't as impressed with the service, food quality, or value at Al Fresco, so I'll be sticking to the original Giuliano's in the future.
