Kalvas The Log House - Parksville

Old school seafood and steak house. The service was attentive. The food and drinks were delicious. They rated good for this price point. I had the scallops and prawns. My wife the crab cakes. We split a beet and goat cheese salad. It was more that enough. I am typically not a fan of this salad. This one change my mind.

I have been there a few times put the last time was really disappointing. The escargot was bland. Not cooked in garlic butter?? The food has no flavour. For the price we paid I expected my better quality food.

Food is excellent but very pricey...make sure your wallet is hefty before entering...they give you free bread before your main course with some of the best garlic butter i've ever tasted

We had the Cesar salad which was not fresh. The salad dressing was not fresh made from a bottle. The steak was tough not medium rare as I ordered. The Veal was a small piece but very bland. Potatoes and veggies need some butter and maybe some garlic to bring them out of its blandness. $180 for two people is a highway robbery for very bland food. Not worth the drive to Parksville.

Best food in Parksville. We stop in every year when we are on this island. Worth trying.
