Did not justify the price. I've had fish here before and it was nicely done. The front room is really too loud if you want to have a conversation. The back room is a lot quieter. Patios are nice, both front and back. A decent choice if you want Italian-style food in Pasadena.
I always seem to have an issue with restaurants that have that old school vibe but rests on their laurels attitude. We'll that is not the case here oh my where to begin. First free parking in a town that seems to charge to stop . Second such a nice greeting by both the hostess and many members of the staff , a warm and fuzzy feeling is blossoming ?. Our server and his associates are above and beyond with attentiveness. Each dish from the wonderful calamari steak appetizer to the veal osso buco (my reason for coming here) to my wife's dish of the crab pasta lagastini simply exquisite. Coffee and desert (canoles no chocolate) with a surprise lemonchello drink and a second desert for our anniversary from our server. Bravo.
We had a business lunch for 8 of us and needed a quiet spot. They were very accommodating and provided us with a round table which was perfect for the meeting. They let us talk for about a half hour before taking our orders. The server was fantastic reciting all the delicious specials. There were so many it was hard to choose. The meals were nicely presented and everyone enjoyed their choices.
We like the feel of Celestino old fashioned, classy, good food and excellent service. Large menu, a number of interesting specials, good value on the food and good wines available at reasonable prices.
The food wasn't as good as used to be. Now they charge bread without notice. Make sure you check the price first before you place the orders for what they so called daily specials.
