Excellent dinner we had yesterday. We were a group of 6 and ordered the buttermilk chicken appetiser, duck taco, sirloin steak, mushroom gnocchi, steak sandwich and brisket sliders. All were fantastic and delicious. The atmosphere was warm and intimate; Niche is definitely perfect as a classier option to go with your friends/family. <br/ <br/ We must mention how terrific the girl that served us; she was attentive and very friendly. Big difference from the other male waiter that was very unhelpful and took forever to show us to our seats.<br/ <br/ Other than that, 2 big thumbs up. Will go back again.
Although they were slightly understaffed they had one gent doing the bar, till and food service etc. then just the chef in the kitchen they worked extremely well. At times there was a slight wait, but I've waited muuuuch longer in restaurants that are fully staffed so absolutely hats off to the guy on the floor. He's worth his weight in gold!I wasn't amazed by the food but it was well priced and tasty. I think the best part of this restaurant is that it's dark and intimate. You have share food to eat with perhaps a first date or a loved one. You could also take a group as it's not a noisy restaurant plus you'd feel like you're the only ones there as there are only around 10 tables. I should note that this venue is attached to the niche bar, so I don't know what a Friday or Saturday night dinner here would be like, as you would have a whole different atmosphere given the bar would be open and patrons would be inside I'm sure it would be fun, but less intimate than it is Monday to Thursday. My advice? Give it a go and see what you think!
Took advantage of a Dimmi 50% off special to try out this restaurant attached to Nook Bar. As you can see from our selection, much of the menu is fried, however I really enjoyed they're use of spice. Service was a bit slow but thats to be expected given they seemed to be operating on a skeleton crew of 3 including the kitchen staff. My favorite would have to be the duck tacos. As for the atmosphere, this venue was dark and moody with trendy furnishings. A good pre-drinks meal with friends on the slightly pricier end.
Little neighborhood gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip. Absolutely loved the decor and casual feel of the bar, attentive service and surprisingly delectable nosh! Highlight of the evening was the pillowy mushroom gnocchi, crispy calamari and nam jin dipping sauce, perfectly cooked prawn skewers and crispy pork belly with pumpkin purée. Highly recommended and will be back to try the pork ribs!
