Bakehouse - Peterborough

The service was terrible and the pie was so old that the crust was too hard to cut through. The beans and gravy covered up the soggy chips, but even so, I was too hungry and exhausted to bother complaining. The staff showed no interest in helping. Save yourself the trouble and find another restaurant.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Windsor and, to be honest, we were expecting the typical high prices, low quality, and small portions that you often find at service stations. However, we were pleasantly surprised. We were served freshly cooked eggs and a full breakfast, with the option to choose any 10 items for £8.95. We ended up spending £20.70 for two breakfasts with teas and coffees. The sausages were reminiscent of Irish Richmond ones and the bacon was high quality back bacon. The mushrooms and beans were tasty, and there were even hash browns. Overall, it was worth the money and the portion sizes were good for the price. We would definitely eat here again.

The Peterborough Services on the A1 has a selection of typical dining options. While there were long lines at the burger and fried chicken spots, there was no wait at Bakehouse. For under £10, we enjoyed a generous portion of chicken, chips, peas, and gravy. The serving size was so large that we shared one order and still had plenty to eat. Overall, it was a great value for the price with excellent customer service.

We stopped at the services for lunch at these motorway services on our way to Kent, expecting to have to pay higher price as is usual for this type of food outlet. Then we found BakeHouse. There was a variety of sandwiches, baguettes, paninis, pizza slices, sausage rolls and more, all t very reasonable prices. Food was tasty, drinks really nice coupled with good service. Will definitely go back when in area and would recommend.

730pm on a busy Sunday night halfway through a 4 hour journey. Pulled chicken roll and chips sounded decent. Chips tepid. Pulled chicken was plain, dry, not cooked like pulled pork for example looked like some type of MRM that had been shredded. Not even any salad in to or with it. Utterly underwhelmed by what felt and tasted like 1980s fare indifferent ingredients like a works canteen. Never again.
