It is difficult for me to leave a negative review for a type of food that I typically enjoy, but this restaurant has unfortunately tainted the reputation of empanadas. I ordered three empanadas and found that the beef one was delicious, the ham and cheese one was lacking filling, and the third one was simply awful.
Jezabel's is one of my favorite places in Philadelphia. While empanadas might seem simple, the ones here are truly exceptional. In addition to their great standard selection, they also offer specials like Spanish omelettes, quince tarts, and amazing quiches. The quality is consistently outstanding, which makes me eager to try everything new that they have to offer. The atmosphere at Jezabel's is just as inviting as the food. While their empanadas are easy to take home and reheat, I make a point to dine in whenever possible. The prices are a bit high for a casual lunch, so it's not somewhere I can visit every day, but I can't resist the temptation to come back regularly.
Cute little coffee shop tucked away on the edge of University City and West Philly. I liked the selections there and the convenience.
Overall poor service. I was not treated like a valued customer. Their prices presented on their menu were different than what I charged, when I mentioned this they refused to honor the price from the menu, this was after they forgot to bring a part of my ordered meal and was then slow to receive. I emailed a complaint which was at the very least acknowledged however there was no apology. The food was good but not for the price.
