We are a family of 4 having two underaged kids. Without checking TripAdvisor, we chose this restaurant. Only when seated (not crowded so that was a smooth process , we read the TripAdvisor reviews. The one I agree with most, is the review from TarjeiHelleberg a month ago. Reasonably priced while having good quality food. It looks classy (nice lounge garden and beautiful interior and the stylishly dressed waiters are adding up to that image. However it is just the image. Staff very friendly and service minded. Next to that spoke very good English. As mentioned, prices (beer is maybe a bit too high priced are pretty normal for this area. We took some starters to share (Patatas con huevos con iberico jamon was really nice , a goat cheese salad and a Pizza for the boys. Customizing the pizza was no issue. After that some coffees and deserts. Total price was a bit higher than “normal” however that was simply because we ordered too much. Waiters really took care that the food came at good intervals, so not the entire table full with food. In relation to a comment about the Cruz Campo beer. We drank a few, no issue at all (deliberately post this review a day after to quality assure . If beer is spoiled, you notice it when tasting (worst case you can even see it in your glass and should comment than. Not “the day after”. If I have to comment something, than it was the fact that the brownie could not be ordered any more. But there were plenty of other things to choose. I can only advise others, go there and don’t be scared off by the “classy appearance”.
We passed this place a few times and decided to go on our last night as a treat as it was quite expensive. We were the first to arrive at evening service. I ordered the tomato bread and husband ordered the fried potatoes for starters to share. Fairly basic, toasted bread with a scraping of tomato paste and the fried potatoes were soggy. For main we ordered the beef fillet and the Monkfish. The fillet was slow cooked and arrived with a few slices of potato. Monkfish was in fact a bowl of seafood which included mussels, prawns, a boney bit of fish and a bit of rubber, I couldn't tell you what it was meant to be. Everything on that plate was overcooked, I couldn't even peel the prawns. When we complained the waiter went to the kitchen and came back apologising that they never noticed when it was taken out of kitchen , we were asked if we would like another dish but to be fair we just wanted to leave. This was by far the worst meal I have ever had. Pricey too. Very disappointed . We were told we could get the drinks for free, sorry but the vodka and the tiny bottle of cider were fine, it was the seafood that was rank. Waiter then went back to kitchen and came back with the bill minus the price of the seafood. Even without this it still came to 50 euro so not a cheap place and we expected better.
