The toppings were alright, the chashu had a great texture but no taste, the menma was ok, and the egg was pretty good. But the broth was completely bland and tasteless, the only flavor was salty. This was true of all three ramens. The chicken kaarage was also disappointing. The chicken was flavorless and had clearly not been marinated. It also was not crispy and barely even fried. The kaarage came with the spicy mayo sauce leftover from making sushi, and the sauce was the only thing this tasted like. The restaurant itself was fine, and clean. The floors were a little sticky, but i think the main problem is understaffing. There was one poor kid running around bussing ~8 tables both in doors and out, while also taking care of all the takeout orders and phone calls. He was very nice and tried to take care of us the best he could, but the fact is he was doing the job of 2-3 people and so service was slow.
This is the worst ramen I?ve ever had. Their signature ramen is too oily and no taste. The Japanese roast pork is too fat. The soup is horrible. The stir fry udon is sour. We left with majority of food still on the table. I don?t recommend this restaurant.
A ramen fusion restaurant located in the same complex as the Asian Food Market. We are still on a quest to find a good ramen place in Central NJ. Ambiance: Booths all along the sides of the restaurant and a long table down the middle. It is nicely decorated and very cozy. Our order: Chicken karaage, veggie ramen, pork shogoyaki, chicken lime ramen, and japanese sausage fried rice. The chicken karaage didn't have much flavor if you didn't dip it into the sauce. It came with 2 types of dipping sauce (white lime flavored, reddish/orage slightly spicy). My veggie ramen was just ok. The best part about it was the noodles, which are hand made in house. They were bouncy and chewy and had great texture. It came with woodear mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, bamboo, and fried tofu. I felt like it was still missing something. The pork shogoyaki was a bit bland for me. It came with pickled veggies, pork, rice, and a bit of noodles. I was surpised to find noodles in it was I was just expecting rice. The japanese sausage fried rice was pretty good. The sausages tasted very similar to just a regular hot dog and it added just the right amount of saltiness to the dish. Overall, just an average ramen place. Nothing really stood out that would make us return again. We didn't try the other menu options like their sushi, korean bimbimbap, etc. But it's great that they have so many options all in one place.
Can?t say enough about this place! I get sushi every Friday night and have tried every sushi place in the area and Sumi Ramen blows them away both with quality of food and amazing service! Would recommend to anyone and everyone who loves amazing food and a great atmosphere! Oh and thanks for the endless spicy Mayo ??????????
This was our first time here and it was delicious!? The shrimp bao buns had a perfect kick of spice, and the Black Queen ramen was perfect for the crisp weather. It wasn't too salty and the broth was delicious ?
