It was easy to understand why the restaurant was half empty on a Saturday night. BBQ is simple, as are the sides, but somehow Hickory managed to mess us a great Texas tradition. Even their buttermilk pie was bad, probably the worst buttermilk pie I have ever eaten. In all fairness the chocolate cake was vey good. On the other hand the staff was delightful. Too many wonderful places to dine, this place is not worth your time or money, I will not return.
Very good, but not great. While prices were surprisingly affordable for west Plano/Frisco, portion sizes were a little small. (Specifically the appetizers But the quality of the food and the friendly service both earn a thumbs up
Over priced !! By a lot, better bbq less money everywhere.
Went with a group of seven and we all enjoyed Hickory. Pulled pork, chicken, bison burger were all very good. Sides of fried green tomatoes, Mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts were ordered family style to share. All good. Some other reviews have commented that it's not true Texas bbq, and I agree with that (it's more southeast BBQ), but it's very good!
The food was just OK. I had the pork spareribs and the Crispy Brussel Sprouts. The ribs were good, but you can tell that they were not smoked. The Brussel sprouts were crispy because they were burnt Very nice staff and the dining room itself is very well done. I will go again and try something else.
