My wife 's fried tilapia was only OK but her greens were crunchy and not really edible. I had the broiled combo. The shrimp were tough and had little taste and my tilapia was tasteless; overall, I was very disappointed; a poor value for the money spent.
I've been eating here regularly for almost a year. There are typically too many selections I like, and I struggle to pick just one. You can't go wrong with any of the fish entrees from the chef's nightly selections. They also allow me to substitute any fish I want with any of their dishes. The staff is very knowledgeable, professional yet friendly. It's a comfortable atmosphere with no pretense. The portions are very generous, and I often leave with a to-go box. Happy Hour in their bar is always busy. The locals favorite choice from what I've seen. A must try in Ponte Vedra!
My mom eats there once a week, and always looks forward to it! I have eaten there several times... never had a bad meal!
I was celebrating my 12 year anniversary so I decided to take my wife for a long weekend away... We stayed at the Marriott in Sawgrass, not knowing the area well we ask a gentleman at the bell stand who park our car where to go, he recommended going to Aqua Grill. We got a second recommendation from a guest from the hotel who had eaten there the night before so we decided to give it a try and made reservations for 7PM. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and was told politely that it will be a few minutes for our table and if we like to go to the lounge to a have glass of wine or cocktail while we waited. The bartender was very outgoing and friendly, bar extremely busy but the energy was good and fun. About 10 minutes past until the hostess came and got us, they transferred our check to the table. We were greeted by a waitress name Alexandra, again very friendly and professional, it just seemed everyone working there was happy. After going overt he menu Alexandra recommended we get the Oyster Bienville and Seafood Chowder, as soon as I put the first bite in my mouth I knew this was going to be an awesome meal, the chowder was thick filled with shrimp and scallop and crab, wow . Oyster Bienville was three large oysters with a roasted vegetable and shrimp stuffing topped with hollandaise. That was great, however a little on small size, (only negative thing for the evening). For our entrée I had Rainbow Trout Gremolata and my wife a Whole Beeline Snapper both were perfectly cooked and each special was unique and well presented. I can tell you they have some serious talent in their kitchen. Very impressive was the GM coming by our table to make sure everything was good, it was very genuine not a quick meet and greet like you see at some restaurants the kicker was the anniversary dessert plate they brought out for us wishing us a happy anniversary. Everything from food, service and atmosphere was top notch. This is a must restaurant if you are in the area.
Aqua Grill is your place to go in Ponte Vedra without question. My wife and I enjoyed an unbelievable dining experience on Friday night July 24, 2009. We sat in the bar for ten minutes waiting on a table and quickly found out that this is the place where the locals go to in Ponte Vedra. We were told they have been here for 21 years and are considered an institution on the First Coast. The warmth and friendliness of the staff really impressed us and we thoroughly enjoyed the upbeat bartenders but that was just the start. Of our special evening. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and told she loved her 8 years working here. She was quite informative with menu suggestions but I got to say that picking a just one entree from Aqua's diverse menu is tough. So many choices sounded so good. we started with some fresh local Mayport shrimp and grits (server told us that Aqua Grill prides itself on getting the best quality seafood and meats they can get and our shrimp was local fresh not frozen shrimp) which was a great beginning. My wife had the sockeye salmon special and as the menu states is definitely world class. My filet was one of the best steaks I have had in a long while and the truffled hand cut French fries were amazing. Our special crab salad and Caesar salad were fresh delicious. We split a dessert which was very good also; but I must admit; they are not shy with their portions and we could not finish dessert and took most of it home. what I particularly liked was the owner/mgr was checking on all the tables and seemed to have great interaction with guests. Aqua Grill is a MUST in Ponte Vedra; we travel a lot and eat at the finest restaurants and my wife agreed this place can hold a candle to the best restaurants around. we finally found a place in town we can really look forward going and I cannot wait to try more of their delicious cuisine. KUDOS TO AQUA GRILL!
