I did expect that and have yummy leftover main course. My husband had the all you can eat perogies (a special for the evening- there are lots of specials on the board) a meat pizza (more than enough for the two of us if I had wanted it) and French onion soup. We were very hungry having skipped lunch so also ordered the mushroom appetizer. Lots of mushrooms. Would go again but would definitely order less. Oh, couldn't refuse dessert so shared a sundae. Yum!
So many towns small to large in Canada had a Queen's Hotel. Port Elgin on Lake Huron is no exception. The owner Pierre has sparked new life into this small town Main Street Gem. No longer a hotel, the bar and restaurant remains with invigorated decor and an interesting menu. The lunch specials are delicious, creative and very reasonably priced. Service is extremely friendly and professional. I have enjoyed a few good lunches there. In a resort town over run with so so chains a well run independent with good fare is a comfortable and welcomed choice.
We decided to try the place out as it was recommended to us. It is a typical bar setting, and it has a kid's menu. The food was great and our server was fantastic. We didn't wait long for the food. The portion size was very good. The decor is like going into an old fashion bar/hotel. It was very clean.
Crazy busy which tells me something. we were warned at the door but waited anyway. worth the wait! nice big room. bar area too, good for waiting. best pizza since nyc. steak cooked perfectly. and oysters! coming back asap.
We had the bacon wrapped scallops, amazing and we shared the rib and wing combo. The server seemed a little off, didn't tell us about any specials at all or introduce herself. Barely seemed to talk at the table. We will be back !
