Sun Rise Cafe - Port Elgin

We've been coming here for breakfasts for a few years now and its always been good and fast, It has recently changed owners and the menu prices went up but the staff remained so the food hasn't changed. The Sunrise breakfasts come with coffee but you need to request home fries if you want them. I like them extra crispy which they will do for you..Pleasant servers too

Certainly don’t understand what others see about this place for breakfast! I guess they just don’t venture out too far to try other fantastic places for breakfast. One order was a cheddar cheese omelette (on the cold side) with 2 slices of toast, I have never seen such a flat omelette; it was even flatter than a super thin pancake; oh yes, coffee was NOT included had to pay extra on this meal. The other was their sunrise special, definitely better looking than the omelette! This meal consisted of 2 eggs (your choice) 4 slices of bacon, 2 slices of toast, and very few home fries which were on the cold side; but coffee was included on this selection. The service wasn’t a warm, pleasant feeling, more like .I had to come into work this morning, and I am here. Don’t think we will be rushing back here, would prefer to drive elsewhere for a more satisfying breakfast to start our day.

We had a lovely breakfast and server was nice. Great version of a standard breakfast was really good and coffee was also great!

I'm ok with a restaurant that has a sign at the door that says "Please wait to be seated" but to be totally ignored by the staff for almost 15 minutes is ridiculous. Please, just acknowledge that you know we are there. And then to get an angry stare down by one of the waitresses when I coughed, well that is totally uncalled for. And NO I didn't cough to get their attention. To make matters worse I just happened to have a bum knee and there was nowhere to sit while waiting. The breakfast was ok but we are always amazed that even the smallest requests seem to go unfulfilled. eggs undercooked. oversized order of home fries when all you ask for is a half order. For a small restaurant you would expect better. Oh. And I spilled some coffee and all they did was to throw a bunch of paper towels on the table. I guess I was on my own for the clean up.

We wake up at the Colonial then enjoy a great breakfast at Sun Rise Cafe, what a great way to start the day. Always fresh and tasty i love the farmers sasage and the silver dollar pancakes so good. Staff always welcomes us with a big smile and quick to get you a coffee and take your order. Food always arrives in minutes. This is a popular place for the locals and i completely understand why so good. Definitely worth checking out.
