Glen Lyon And Pub - Port Hardy

The view is beautiful but the place is so outdated. The wings were decent but the beef dip was so bland and chewy and the fries were very undercooked. I hate sending things back so I didn't, but the waitress never asked if there was a problem when I didn't even finish half of my meal. My partner had the halibut fish and chips and said the halibut was pretty good, but his fries were underdone too.The waitress was very sweet, but we will not be going back for breakfast as we planned

Pretty awful experience Aug 27, 2023 (8-10pm). Waitress took our order, we eventually got drinks and then 90 mins later after asking several times still didn't have our food order. In the end excuse, excuse but the truth is that the waitress just forgot to get our order to the kitchen and the kitchen shut down. Half our group left tired, fed up and still hungry. The to add insult to injury the waitress was didn't really seem to care much and was pretty snotty when there was no tip. Will never go back.

Great waterfront views from the pub/restaurant seating. It was a busy day when we came in . Our server was friendly , and i know that she's trying to hold herself to deal with busy time. However, our food came after 2 HOURS. The server was told and was aware that food will take some time (we overheard), for which i can understand, if she would've advised us that food would take longer so that we can plan to go somewhere else. We sat in at 7pm and didn't eat till 9pm. That is absolutely crazy and I started to feel very hangry. As a part of the hospitality industry, i feel for the (2)kitchen staff feeding atleast 100 people per turnover. Please do something about it and do not compromise quality over quantity. I hope this serves a guide for improvement in the future as this is the one of the decent restaurant you can find in port hardy and id like to see this place succeed.

The service was friendly and helpfulThe atmosphere was bright with a beautiful view…..but room had a smell to itFirst time here so only review on the fish and chips and beer.The beer was cool not coldThe fish batter was very greasy-the fish inside was freshThe coleslaw was not good and kinda warmThe tartar sauce was goodAnd I still can’t believe that restaurant can’t seem to be able to make ‘homemade’ fries …..frozen fries…… sad

I will not eat here again. Over an hour and a half wait for a bowl of soup and small salad. One taste of the soup and that was it. Very bad. Then it took the waitress seven times to get the bill correct. This place only stays in business because people who stay here for the first time don’t know how bad the restaurant is. Extremely disappointing!!!
