First of all, I would like to say that my wife and I were very impressed. This was our first time Longhorn and we were blown away. If one of you in the Portage area,IN this is a MUST STOP TO EAT THERE type of space. The restaurant was very clean. We sat immediately and the ambience was very pleasant. Our server Kevin was also absolutely 100% phenomenal. He was by far one of our best servers we had. I told him yesterday when we go back there, we'll ask him. A small background on him, he was a chef in front of Longhorn and is now a server. He recommends you different options and is a real to earth type. Longhorn is blessed to have him as her employees. If we had some of Kevin's in any restaurant, the restaurant companies would never have any customer complaints. Okay, now for dinner. My first time to eat steak in a restaurant and of course, all my meat must be done well. I ordered Longhorn Steak, the greatest steak they serve, and OH MY GOODNESS I thought I died and went to heaven. Talk about a well made, juicy, no steak sauce needed type of steak. Potatoes, my goodness, very creamy. The best potatoes I've ever eaten. The bread brought out before food is so beautiful and warm that the butter simply melts as you spread it. My wife had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with baked potato and she was blown away from the taste it had. She also had the loaded baked potato soup and she says she was the best soup she ever tasted. We were ready to go and here comes Kevin, can I interest you in a desert? And we fell for it. Kevin recommended my wife the Triple Chocolate Cheesecake and it was so good. Of course, I also get the mood for the desert and end up with the Bakers Dozen Donut Bites. It was mouthwater and didn't share with someone and I have no shame to say it. Don't just take my word for it, try and let me know what you think. Please, Kevin. He's a cool guy and you won't be disappointed. We ate something before I could take a picture. I'm sorry, but I was hungry.
Very enjoyed our culinary experience at Longhorn Steakhouse. The restaurant was busy when we arrived and there was a 45min. We decided to have drinks at the bar to wait and finally decided to dinate at the bar. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable in the menu. I enjoyed the salad with Italian dressing at the beginning of the meal. The salad was very hearty, and I wish I could find the Italian dressing in a grocery store somewhere. Also the warm bread and the butter were delicious. The salmon and lobster tail were delicious, and the ribs were cut off from the bone and had great taste. The dining room was warm and friendly in the bar area of the restaurant. We met new friends and had a great time to tell jokes and stories. The bartender has done a great job to get our food ordered in an extensive way and our drinks/ cocktails were delicious. I recommend the Whiskey Sauer with upper shelf Bourbon. The cost of our meals was very appropriate for the quality of the service and the general culinary experience. I would return to Longhorn Steakhouse in Portage, IN for another quality meal at a reasonable price.
