I had heard a lot about this place and seen the lines so I was excited to try it out. Food: DEFINITELY get the soy wings if you come, they were really tasty and had a unique flavor and I really really do recommend getting them. We also got the khao neu which had a bit too much coconut milk we felt but was still good. I would also recommend the coconut ice cream sandwich! It’s a real sandwich with bread too! Service: The people seemed a bit impatient with us but we got our food fast! Ambiance: This place is super casual! Definitely would want to come back and get the wings again!
I don't come down to Portland often. The last time I tried to go to Pok Pok several years ago, it was closed! This time I was successful in eating at Pok Pok, the indoor dining area is small cozy. They have outside dining area plus take out. Apparently the takeout menu is different from the dining menu. They had a Tom Yum ramen for takeout that was not available for dining in. We had the famous chicken wings, it live up to it's reputation diners review about it. They weren't kidding- it was OMG! We also ordered the Pok Pok special with half a BBQ chicken with 2 yummy different dipping sauce served with the papaya salad glutinous rice in a basket. The papaya salad was yummy... chicken was tender juicy, their dipping sauces were good. One was spicy the other was sweet sour, both were good. Service was good, bring our first time there, the server recommended the Pok Pok special. All in all, a yummy experience! Until next time.
One of the most unique Thai places I was. super casual environment and very friendly staff. we ordered the wings (like all others) pork bells with garnels in glass noodles and curry beef. every dish was well cooked. in any case want to come back and try the other dishes.
I love this place! a friend recommended it while I was city and it was excellent. easy, but we prepare dishes with tons taste. the wings are excellent! salty and crispy! try them in any case! we also tried the garnels in a hot tonpot and it was dazzling and so delicious. I love the glass noodles! we have tried the thai curry and the spicy fruits. I loved everything here! we also had the mango with sticky rice. it was so delicious and a perfect finish!
Genuine authentic aromen, unique Thai street food that they usually cannot get. do not expect pad thai or other such objects. their drink menu is also adventurous, contemplative and creatiw with fusion elements that combine east and west flavors. the decor makes them really feel that they are in a small village in Thailand. we also felt that the chicken with the 2 dipping sauce (second element on the menu) was the highlight for eating, even better than the wings that each raves over. service was also very friendly and helpful. thanks for a wonderful lunch!
