O Forno Dos Clérigos - Porto

Absolutely awful. Avoid avoid avoid. Food was on the verge of inedible, totally ripped off. I even complained as it was SO bad and waiter just shrugged his shoulders. They play on foreign tourists for sure. Asked for Empanadas and got given chicken in breadcrumbs, when I complained they said these ARE empanadas? Then tried to charge me for chicken sandwiches. Worst food I have eaten on holiday and left me so cross that I had fallen for this trap thinking place looked rustic and clearly full of locals- NOTE; locals were probably given the nice stuff whilst us tourists were given the scrag ends. The suckling pork was grey in colour and was the bits of a joint that you normally throw in the bin. Then was charged €€€ for a meal I wouldn’t feed my pet. Avoid at all costs!!!!

Very expensive, dirty toilets, waiter washing cutlery in a bowl. I never thought I'd be tricked like that in Portugal.

Good honest local Portuguese food at very reasonable prices. The place was tidy, clean, with good service when I visited twice for lunch.

Stay in porto for 6 days and we visited this situation almost daily. all baristas were so courteous and their English was very good. marcia was especially helpful and so friendly! love her
